Compass will be hiring 360 pilots between April 2007 and
December 2008. The first 110 between April and December of 2007.
All 110 pilot hired this year should be a Captain in less than a year!

Northwest airlines has the second highest retirement rate in the US majors over the next 10 years. They are expecting to recall all furloughed pilots by the end of the second quarter of 2007.
